Allergies & Asthma
Purpose Pediatrics evaluates and treats childhood allergic reactions and asthma flare-ups in Beaumont, TX during evening and weekend hours. We can evaluate your child who is wheezing, having coughing fits, hives, swelling, and other reactions after hours.
Call or walk in. We'll evaluate your child and treat what's treatable on-site, including breathing treatments and allergic reaction management.

If your child is having a severe allergic reaction — trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, fainting, or signs of anaphylaxis — call 911 or go directly to the ER.
What We Do at Your Visit
A pediatric provider will assess your child's breathing, listen to their lungs, and identify the trigger if possible. We can administer breathing treatments (nebulized albuterol) on-site for asthma flare-ups, give a steroid injection where appropriate, and prescribe medications to manage the reaction at home.

- A list of known allergies
- Notes on what triggered the reaction (food, environmental, unknown)
- The name of your child's regular pediatrician (if established)
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you do breathing treatments at Purpose Pediatrics?
Yes. We have on-site nebulizer treatments for asthma flare-ups, wheezing, and respiratory distress. Your child can get relief during the visit.
My child has asthma but no inhaler — can you help?
Yes. We can evaluate, treat the flare-up on-site, and prescribe a rescue inhaler to take home.
When should I go to the ER instead?
If your child has severe breathing trouble, lips turning blue, swelling of the face or throat, or any signs of anaphylaxis, go directly to the ER or call 911. We treat moderate flare-ups; we are not equipped for severe respiratory or anaphylactic emergencies.
Do you do allergy testing?
We do not do diagnostic allergy panels. We treat reactions as they happen and refer for follow-up testing through your child's regular pediatrician or an allergist.
